I've been lazy and less than emphatic in the past about trying to sell my writing, so I challenged myself to try to make sure I'm actively trying to sell anything I have that I consider worth publishing. So found Sonar, an open source submission tracking program, and dredged up all the material I didn't realize I had, because some of it's not genre, and some is non-fiction. One has kind of been published, but only available to a limited audience and I think it should be published again someplace bigger, and another one I don't think it really that good, more of a study than an actual story, and what plot there is is terribly predictable, and I wouldn't publish it myself, but there really isn't anything more I can do with it to make it more marketable. But I figure some snooty literary magazine would eat it up because it's crap, so that's where I'm sending it. And the other one is The Eyelet Dove.
So now I have six babies out looking for homes. Some have been returned quite fast, so I've had to send them elsewhere the next day, but my goal is to have all my babies looking for homes, and when one gets rejected, it will go looking again as quickly as possible.
I feel like I've accomplished something. Even if I haven't sold anything yet.

I really like it; you make entries for each of your works, then entries for the markets you sub to, then from the works window, you click add submission, grab the market from the drop down menu and it creates a submission entry linking the submission and market, records the date of the submission and displays the work, and the submission stats (market and days since submission) on the main page.
