Week two is always the worst for nano. It's when you start getting tired of spending hours and hours every day writing, and you've done so much work, and look at it and realize you're not even halfway. And it's depressing. Every year, it's been the point where I start to fall behind one day, and worse the next, because even though I'm writing every day, it's not been enough to keep me on track, and the day that I sit down and get a bunch done is not enough to make up for it.
Then I start getting discouraged and give up because I'm so far behind at this point I have no realistic chance of catching up. I keep going, determined to at least be happy to have gotten a good chunk of a start on a new project, and one day I'll have more time, and less commitments, and then I'll make it to the 50k. One day.
This year I had more time, and less commitments.
I'm not behind.
This is the year.
