Saw 300 today. Not much plot, in fact, the only reason I didn't see the traitor bit coming was because I was surprised they put that much effort into the plot. What plot there was was really only there for the sake of having a premise for the carnage.
It was awesome!
Sorry, I'm a girl who likes action movies. Blame it on my mother. She never took me to the theatre, my dad did. And he rented movies, so when I was growing up, once I got old enough to stay up a little later on movie night, after our kiddie movie was over, it wasn't a chick flick that came after, it was die hard and lethal weapon. And Jackie Chan. Can never have enough Jackie Chan.
Heh, and who can get enough of nearly naked, barrel chested men with washboard abs whaling on each other with not-quite-period-but-who-cares weaponry? And that was the good guys.
Obligatory sex scene was good as well. Short, but I suppose you can't please everyone. Not so much smooth graceful movements, this. More natural movement, emphasizing the thrusting. The sound with it was good too, much more realistic than the oh-baby-oh-baby porno sort of thing, but more than the music cover that they'd put into a romance movie or the average action film.
The oracle was really cool! I'm pretty sure they filmed her underwater, and just made it look like she was sort of floating in the air by speeding up and slowing down the movement. The camera effects were very good, but I expected that, coming from the makers of sin city.
