Call of the Night
Mar. 21st, 2007 12:39 amGot my first call from a customer running Vista. And it was... everything I knew it would be.
modem was online, clearly not a comcast issue, and the customer had connected the computer directly to the modem, but needed to release and renew the ip address. So, customer first, it'll make him happy and get him online if I show him how to do this.
Ha!
Customer doesn't have administrative access to his computer. Why Microsoft would restrict access to the most basic and harmless of troublshooting steps to administrative accounts, is beyond me, but for whatever reason of insanity they did. Customer's fucked, referred to microsoft.
We laughed, cause we all knew this was exactly what was going to happen, as soon as we had the vista training. Ah, well. Poor bastards without admin access.
