The "First" Last Unicorn

When Peter S. Beagle sat down to write "the last unicorn", what originally came out was quite different from the version that three generations have known and loved. The original version was never finished, since it was going nowhere; thus the whole trashing it and starting over from the beginning, but it has been published, as "The last Unicorn, the lost version." Only 1000 copies exist, all autographed by the author and numbered, and I have copy 703!

Congratulations, how does it differ from the final version?

Mainly it's set in present day. In chapter 1, instead of a pair of hunters, a dragon wander's into the unicorn's forest and tells her she's the last. It's mostly the same from there up to where she meets Schmendrick, in the final version, and instead she meets a demon, who's gotten the boot from hell because his second head got hold of the body and started burning shit down, because he didn't believe in the "people friendly" movement currently in vogue there.
